As RFOTR members may have read in today's Bath Chronicle the application by Jack Sparrow and Rosemary Carne to appeal against the recent decision by the Upper Tribunal has been rejected. This should bring to an end the series of appeals by these long-term objectors against the Schemes for the Rec proposed by the Charity Commission and the Recreation Ground Trust.
The Scheme originally put forward by the Charity Commission and the Recreation Ground Trust will now go back to the First Tier Tribunal for amendment, and then a new Scheme will be issued. This will then provide a framework for redevelopment on the Rec and should enable the Rec Trust and Bath Rugby to work together on a agreement for new permanent arena on the Rec.
This is a very positive development and should remove any further obstacles to establishing a new Scheme for the Rec.
