Bath Rugby is renewing its commitment to the city with plans to improve facilities and increase capacity at The Rec.
The club is preparing to apply for a four-year temporary consent to continue with the existing arrangements for the North and South Stands as well as the East Stand.
But to help improve match day for fans the club wants to make changes to the facilities and seating at the West Stand.
The alterations would increase capacity from 13,500 to 14,500 ready for the 2016/17 season.
The club wants to remove the existing seats at the West Stand and replace them with a temporary structure. the change would also create a new concourse with toilets, bars and food outlets.
The back wall of the West Stand would remain but the roof would be raised by three metres.
Managing director Tarquin McDonald said they while Bath Rugby continued to work with stakeholders on its long-term plans for The Rec the club wanted to make match day as enjoyable as possible for fans.
