Show your support for Bath Rugby's temporary plans

Bath Rugby has submitted a planning application for temporary improvements on the land they currently occupy at The Rec.

There's not long left to make your support count, so please complete the form here if you haven't already done so.
The submission, which seeks permission for two seasons (2014/2015 and 2015/2016), will enable the Club to improve facilities and increase capacity ahead of their 150th anniversary year in 2015.

Nick Blofeld, Chief Executive, Bath Rugby said: "As we gear up for a year of special events to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Bath Rugby, this temporary application means we can provide more capacity and better facilities for our spectators. It will also enable more supporters to get closer to the action during a landmark year in the Club's history. This temporary application, however, is completely separate to our main plans to redevelop our ageing facilities at The Rec. Those plans are being reviewed, following the recent Charity Tribunal's decision and the Recreation Ground Trustee's seeking leave to appeal."

Many of Bath Rugby's games have either sold-out or been near sell-outs this season. With plans developing for a series of events in and around the city to celebrate their 150th year, the Club is anticipating increased demand, particularly for hospitality space.

This submission includes temporary increases to the existing seasonal East (Novia) and North (Thatchers) stands and more hospitality boxes in the South (IPL) Stand - bringing the capacity at the Rec from approximately 12,000 to approximately 14,000.
