Rumoured Bath Rugby coaching target Steve McNamara has joined Australian NRL side Sydney Roosters, according to reports Down Under.
England rugby league boss McNamara had been linked with a position on Bath’s coaching staff in the wake of director of rugby Gary Gold’s departure earlier this week.
McNamara’s England contract expired after their semi-final exit to New Zealand at last month’s World Cup and he was rumoured to be weighing up a cross-code switch.
The 42-year-old is believed to have attended training sessions at Bath during the summer and is well known to head coach Mike Ford, himself a former rugby league player.
