Neal Hatley hopes the momentum gathered from winning the Aviva A League final will benefit Bath ahead of a vital three weeks in the club's season.
Hatley's side were clinical in attack, scoring four tries through Tom Biggs, Gavin Henson, Charlie Beech and Richard Lane, while Tom Heathcote kicked nine points in a 29-20 victory over Northampton Wanderers at Franklin's Gardens.
The Wanderers, who trailed 17-3 at one point, responded through a Howard Packman score, a penalty try and ten points from the boot of Glenn Dickson, but it was not enough.
Northampton's Mike Haywood and Bath's Kane Palma-Newport were both sin-binned in the first half and Hatley believes the defensive display when down to 14 men proved to be the difference.
