Bath are investigating an incident in which their summer signing Gavin Henson was allegedly punched by a team-mate, believed to be Carl Fearns, on a night out in a city centre pub.
Former Wales utility back Henson, who has joined Bath from London Welsh, was out with some of his new team mates in the Pig and Fiddle pub in Bath on Wednesday evening when he was allegedly knocked out by an individual believed to be former England Saxons flanker Fearns.
Footage of the incident, which was captured on a mobile phone, appears to show Henson arguing with Fearns who is held back by fellow back-row forward Guy Mercer. Fearns then leans over and lands a right hook to Henson’s face.
“Henson went out like a light for about five minutes. He just lay there like a lump, right on the floor,” an eyewitness told the Bath Chronicle.
