Newport Gwent Dragons are believed to have joined Bath Rugby in the race to sign Gavin Henson.
The Wales international was thought to be on the verge of signing a two-year deal at The Rec but a report at Wales Online today says that incoming Dragons boss Lyn Jones is keen to lure Henson back to his homeland.
Henson, 31, has won 33 caps for his country and once for the British & Irish Lions. He took 21 months out of the game in 2010 and has been beset by injury and off-the-field issues since.
Jones knows the controversial back better than most, having worked with him for five years at Ospreys before the pair were reunited at London Welsh last season.
