When Bath Rugby’s website announced the England squads on Wednesday of last week, it didn’t lead with legions of Bath players who will be gracing the fields of Twickenham, the Aviva Stadium and the Millennium Stadium during the Six Nations, but on the appointment of Kyle Eastmond, a Rugby League convert, to the Saxons squad.
The only Bath player named in the senior squad was Davey Wilson, who was relegated to the status of a sub during the Autumn Internationals against the Southern Hemisphere. While far from disgracing himself, without an extended stretch of game time, Wilson never really had the chance to make much of a mark on the game. His skill has been evident for Bath in recent months however, allowing him to retain his place on the bench for England.
But what about the rest of the Bath squad? It hasn’t been an especially stellar season, true, but surely one of the most famous clubs in English rugby should have more presence in the England set-up?
