George Ford, regarded as one of the brightest talents in English rugby, is to leave Leicester to join Bath next season as part of a major recruitment drive that will also include the signings of London Irish’s highly-rated trio Jonathan Joseph, Matt Garvey and Anthony Watson.
Ford, the 2011 World Junior Player of the Year, will join up with his father Mike, the former England defence coach. Joesph’s signing is as a major coup. The 21-year-old centre impressed on England’s summer tour of South Africa. Second row Garvey, 25, has broken into the England Saxons squad while Watson, an 18-year-old full-back or wing, scored four tries for England Under-20s last year.
