Is Andy Robinson set for a return to Bath Rugby?

Andy Robinson could return to Bath Rugby as head coach if Scotland’s poor form in the Six Nations continues.

Former Scotland scrum-half Andy Nicol, who lifted the Heineken Cup with Bath in 1998 while serving under Robinson, believes a move back to The Rec could be an “attractive proposition” for Robinson if he decided to part company with the Scottish Rugby Union.

Day signs with Bath Rugby

Bath Rugby have signed Dominic Day on a 3 year contract, the Club are pleased to confirm today.

The 26 year old lock, currently playing in the RaboDirect Pro12 with the Scarlets, is an integral part of the Welsh regions first team pack, making 97 appearances so far.

Bath captain Stuart Hooper suffers fresh injury blow

Bath captain Stuart Hooper has been ruled out for four to six weeks with a fractured thumb.

The 30-year-old lock suffered the injury in the 14-11 defeat by local rivals Gloucester on Saturday - his first game back after fracturing his eye socket in January.

First Bath United win of the season!

A young Bath United side fought to the end to record their first win of the season over a strong Worcester Cavaliers team, final score 31-29.

United started the game well, forcing an early penalty which fly-half Ed Hainsworth duly converted to give the hosts an early advantage.

New injury blow makes Bath Rugby's Lee Mears a doubt for England

England hooker Lee Mears could be out of contention for this weekend’s RBS 6 Nations game against Wales after suffering a bicep injury.

The Bath forward has not been able to make either of Stuart Lancaster’s opening two matchday squads in the competition so far, and may be absent from this weekend’s game at Twickenham against the unbeaten Welsh.

Bath Rugby edged out by Gloucester in West Country derby

Bath Rugby 11, Gloucester 14
The Rec endured chants of 'Gloucester, Gloucester' after the final whistle for the second year running as Bath Rugby went down 14-11 to their West Country rivals.

An early try by Tom Biggs and a penalty apiece by Olly Barkley and Tom Heathcote wasn't enough for the hosts, with replacement fly-half Ryan Mills kicking the winning points.

Only a few weeks ago the club was evaluating whether to table a major move for the British Lions prop, pictured above, a move which would have made Jenkins the most expensive new signing ahead of the 2012-12 season.

Preview: Bath Rugby v Gloucester Rugby

Bath Rugby have won their last four matches in all competitions since their 22-24 loss at Montpellier in the European Cup on 14 January.

Bath have won their last four home games at The Rec since Leinster won there on 11 December.

Gloucester Rugby's only defeat in their last four matches was 15-23 at London Irish in the Anglo-Welsh Cup on 4 February. Gloucester have won just one away game in Aviva Premiership Rugby in the last twelve months: 24-19 at Exeter Chiefs on 5 November.

Bath's solitary victory in their last eight encounters with Gloucester was 24-8 at The Rec on 27 December 2009.

McGEECHAN ENTHUSED BY HEATHCOTE


Tom Heathcote gave Bath director of rugby Sir Ian McGeechan plenty of reason for cheer as the young fly-half masterminded a 30-24 win over Newcastle.

With New Zealand international Stephen Donald sidelined for a month with a knee injury Heathcote, on his 20th birthday, proved a more than capable replacement.

Second-half comeback secures Bath Rugby a winning bonus point against Newcastle Falcons

Bath Rugby overcame an 8-14 half-time deficit to run out winners against Newcastle Falcons at The Rec in a game in which both sides blew hot and cold.

Three second-half tries in 10 minutes and a solitary touchdown in the first period did the damage for Bath, with wing Olly Woodburn scoring a brace on top of a penalty try and a short-range touchdown for Anthony

Two more commit to Bath Rugby

Ross Batty and Chris Cook have both agreed contract extensions at Bath Rugby the Club are pleased to confirm.

Ross joined the Club two years ago and has made 27 appearances for the Club so far, including scoring his debut try against Northampton Saints two weeks ago. He will now be with the Club for three more seasons, taking him through to 2015.

Stephen Donald wants to play Super Rugby again.

The World Cup-winning first five says he's struggling to adapt to the conservative English game
Donald has told Radio Sport he will return to New Zealand to play again after his two-year contract with Bath expires.

He says he will only be 29 when he finishes at Bath and there will be plenty of rugby left in him.
Donald says it's enjoyable living in another country but the rugby is a bit different at the moment.

Preview: Bath Rugby v Newcastle Falcons

Bath Rugby's only win in their last six matches of Aviva Premiership Rugby was 30-3 at home to London Irish on New Year's Day.

Bath have won their last three games at The Rec since their 13-18 reversal to Leinster in the European Cup on 11 December.
Newcastle Falcons have won just one of their last eight encounters in the Premiership: 26-25 at home to Gloucester in round ten.

The Falcons' solitary victory on the road in the Premiership since April 2010 was at Leeds on 27 February 2011.

Bath have lost only one of their last 15 clashes with Newcastle in all competitions since 2004: 16-27 at The Rec in the Premiership on 24 October 2009.

Date set for Bath Rugby's semi-final showdown with Tigers

Bath Rugby's LV= Cup semi-final clash with Leicester Tigers will take place at 7.30pm on Friday, March 9, it has been confirmed.

The two teams will be battling it out for the right to face Northampton Saints or Scarlets, who meet in the other semi-final two days later.

Bath secure home Anglo Welsh semi-final

A first-half hat-trick from wing Tom Biggs helped Bath secure a home LV= Cup semi-final against Leicester after a comfortable 31-3 victory over a weakened Exeter at Sandy Park.

The visitors top Pool 1 of the competition and the result of the Newport-Gwent Dragons game against Saracens, which fell victim to the weather on Friday night, is now irrelevant.

Bath Rugby's Kyle Eastmond ruled out for another month through injury

Luckless rugby league convert Kyle Eastmond has been given a week’s leave by Bath after suffering another injury.

The 22-year-old has been told by the club’s management to spend time rehabilitating with his family in Greater Manchester after tearing a hamstring in training, condemning him to the sidelines for another month.
