Brad Davis saluted the commitment and physicality of his young players as Bath Rugby booked a spot in the final of the JP Morgan Asset Management Premiership Rugby Sevens.
Bath finished runners-up in Pool C as hosts Gloucester produced three bonus-point wins to finish top in front of a lively 8,494-strong Kimgsholm crowd.
But it will be Bath who have home advantage in the final, which takes place at The Rec on Friday, August 3.
A bonus-point 36-7 dismantling of Worcester was followed by a 19-12 win over Exeter for Bath, who then succumbed 24-17 to Gloucester in the evening's final match.
Davis told the Chronicle: "Knowing we are hosting the finals, it would have been pretty tough turning up to work tomorrow morning if we hadn't got through!
