Betfair's take on Bath Rugby V Irish..

Bath have been difficult to predict this season, but one aspect of their game that has been consistent is that their defence has been strong and punters can profit from this in their match against London Irish on Sunday.

Although Leinster pulverised Sir Ian McGeechan's side in the Heineken Cup, Bath have resorted to giving away penalties rather than concede seven points. The West Country side have conceded the fewest tries in the league, but an incredible 42 penalty goals in their 11 matches.

  1. It's not the lack of tries conceded, or even the huge number of penalties - it's the lack of tries scored that is worrying.

  2. I agree. We need some form of attacking edge if we are to win games. Furthermore, a defensive system which is based on giving away penalties will not work if the opposition have a good kicker.
