FAN'S VIEW: Feel-good factor embraces club both on and off the field

In early December, Bath finally produced a performance worthy of the name to run Northampton Saints very close at Franklin's Gardens.

Saints were challenging at the top, while Bath languished at the foot of the Premiership, with only Leeds propping up the table beneath us.

It had been a particularly trying autumn and a prolonged battle against relegation seemed ahead, with the 2009-10 season promising a nervy ending for Bath's supporters. It still does, of course, but – almost miraculously – for very different reasons.
