Bath beat Saints

It was edgy, it was thrilling and it was as close as a missed long-range 45-metre drop goal from Shane Geraghty in the last minute. Bath’s recovery from their dreadful start to the season had begun before high-roller, Bruce Craig, rode into town last week with stacks of enthusiasm and, more importantly, bags of money, but there’s little doubt that his arrival has brought added impetus to the push for play-off honours.

After this jittery victory, however, Bath might come to appreciate that there’s no such thing as an instant pay-out on investment. The win, however, over a Northampton side showing 12 changes has given Bath a credible shout to make the all-important top four.
